I'm Mau Arevalo — technology executive, AI strategist, and digital equity advocate. I think and write about where artificial intelligence is taking us, why this moment matters more than most people realize, and what responsible deployment actually looks like beyond the boardroom. I also build: I founded AI for All to make that vision real in emerging markets where AI's benefits are most needed — and most at risk of never arriving.
This is a rare moment in history. AI is not a feature upgrade — it's a civilizational shift. My work sits at the intersection of what that shift could unlock, who gets left behind if we don't get it right, and what it takes to actually execute in the most complex markets in the world.
We are living through one of the most consequential technological transitions in human history — and most organizations are navigating it without a map. I help leadership teams think clearly about AI: what it can actually do, where the risks live, and how to deploy it with governance, privacy, and equity principles built in from the start, not bolted on as an afterthought. The goal is AI that compounds human potential, not one that concentrates power in fewer hands.
I've built go-to-market engines at Motorola, Microsoft, Samsung, and Intel — environments where infrastructure, playbooks, and partner ecosystems already existed, and the job was to out-execute the competition at scale. Then I took that foundation somewhere completely different: leading commercial strategy at Endless Access across Africa and Latin America, where the retail infrastructure didn't exist, connectivity wasn't assumed, and every model had to be designed from scratch. That contrast — corporate excellence in one hand, emerging-market ingenuity in the other — is what makes the work interesting and the results possible.
The same forces accelerating productivity for the connected world are widening the gap for the billions without meaningful digital access. I write and think about this tension constantly — and I've spent a decade building programs in East Africa and Latin America designed to close it for real, not just on a slide deck.
I build companies, not just strategies. Founding AI for All means doing the real founder work — defining a market that didn't exist, building a GTM from zero, pricing for emerging economies, and signing the first customers. I understand venture risk from the inside.
Having led teams and programs across Africa, Latin America, the US, the Middle East, and Europe, cultural intelligence is not a slide competency for me. It's a working condition. I navigate the kind of complexity — language, market structure, regulatory environment, social context — that stops most execution at the border.
Active board-level engagement at Endless Access — strategy presentations, funding conversations, and working alongside directors. Building intentionally toward a portfolio of board roles in technology and social impact organizations where commercial value and human impact are the same mission, not competing priorities.

What it actually takes to close the digital divide — the business models, the mindset shifts, and the uncomfortable truth about what AI is doing to the gap for those who still don't have the basics.
AI adoption is accelerating faster than most organizations can responsibly absorb. What that means for governance, for equity, and for the people making decisions in the middle of the storm.
I've spent twenty years at the intersection of technology, commercial strategy, and human access. I've seen what happens when innovation reaches people who were never supposed to be the target market. And I've seen what happens when it doesn't. Both experiences shape how I think about AI.
My commercial track record runs through the biggest names in technology — Motorola, Microsoft, Samsung, and Intel — where I led global and regional go-to-market strategy in structured environments with established infrastructure and competitive playbooks. Then I took those skills somewhere they'd never been applied: building the commercial model for Endless Access across East Africa and Latin America, where connectivity wasn't assumed, retail infrastructure had to be designed from scratch, and financing models had to be invented to reach the people who needed it most.
I write about AI because this moment deserves serious, honest thinking. Not hype, not fear — but a clear-eyed view of what AI and human intelligence together can achieve, who gets left behind if we build it badly, and what responsible deployment actually looks like in practice. These aren't abstract concerns. They're the questions I'm most motivated to work on.
I'm also a founder. AI for All (aiforall.ai) is my effort to put that conviction into practice — responsible AI adoption for organizations in Africa and emerging markets. I believe you can't credibly advocate for something you're not willing to build.
I'm open to senior executive roles, strategy consulting, board opportunities, and speaking with organizations that see technology as a force multiplier for human potential — not just for shareholder returns.
MBA from UT Austin · MS Finance from Tec de Monterrey · BS Engineering from Universidad de los Andes. Four languages. Active across more than 20 countries. I think the breadth is the point.
Each role added a dimension — geography, function, seniority, or sector — that the last one didn't have. That's not accidental.
Founded and leading a startup focused on responsible AI adoption for organizations in Africa and emerging markets — launching first in Africa, with Latin America to follow. Doing the full founder work: defining the market, building the GTM and commercial model from zero, establishing partnerships, and driving revenue and strategy. Helping leadership teams navigate AI with governance, privacy, and anti-bias principles built in from day one, not bolted on after the fact.
Led commercial strategy across East Africa and Latin America for an EdTech company bringing device-enabled digital education to underserved communities. In East Africa, assessed the market, defined pricing, structured the supply chain and fulfillment model, and designed the go-to-market strategy to deploy through a partner network of 800+ retail Experience Centers — a country where PC penetration was below 30%, representing massive untapped potential. Achieved 85–87% learner retention. In Guatemala (Latin America), partnered with a best-in-class local partner, achieving repayment rates above 98% and customer retention near 70% — again in a market with sub-30% PC penetration. Also led institutional B2B partnerships and board-level strategy and funding conversations.
Managed global B2B channel revenue strategy for Windows Pro across OEM, distributor, and reseller verticals — working alongside major OEM partners including Dell and Lenovo worldwide. Led key initiatives for digital transformation with Windows Pro as the primary engine through which Microsoft expanded its services footprint with these partners. Enabling and activating major partners at scale drove 150% YoY adoption growth and partnerships representing ~30% of global Windows device volume.
Full P&L ownership for Mobility Products in the Mexican market. Launched Galaxy Book and Galaxy Tab S3 across B2C and B2B channels. Achieved 15%+ value share with a 5pp+ profitability increase.
Exceeded B2B sales quota of $200M+ in the Mexican market; achieved 110% of quota FY15. Grew market share 10% through C-level enterprise engagement and strategic channel development.
Part of the team that launched Surface — Microsoft's own PC — into the commercial channel. Built and optimized the full B2B partner acquisition and onboarding funnel. Achieved 120%+ revenue growth within the first year of the Surface launch.
Nine years and multiple roles across the full arc of Motorola's business in Latin America — covering every market from Mexico through Brazil and all countries in between. Held progressive leadership positions including Strategy Head for the region, Chief of Staff across multiple business units, Product Marketing Manager, and Sales Manager. Averaged 150% YoY revenue growth (2010–2012). A formative decade that built the commercial, strategic, and cross-cultural foundation everything else has run on.
If you're thinking about AI strategy, responsible technology, digital equity, or go-to-market in complex markets — or if you want a thinking partner for where any of this is heading — I'm open to the conversation. That includes executive roles, consulting engagements, board opportunities, and speaking.
